I was surprised at the police presence also. From Digbeth all the way to St. Andrew's there was at least two officers stationed every 50 yards, with more intensity at the ground.
I would have thought it would have been heavier for the Wolves match Easter Monday, what with it being a derby match.
There was also a heavy police presence at New Street Station approximately 2 hours after the match on Saturday.

1. Too early to assess Callum. He's young, it's his first season. We have to give him time. He's playing in a poor team with not much support in midfield.
2. Not going to blame Butland, I don't know if he could have saved it. We gave the ball away in midfield, they moved it forward quickly and had a man over on the right.
3. Zigic had a poor game but was man marked all game and Shittu got away with fouling him all game long. It's not his game to chase balls down the channels or hopeful punts forward.

The major problem in the game was that we were out muscled and bullied all over the pitch. We are too small and lightweight against physical teams.

The ref thing was funny to watch, but I think we would all agree it is much more important that the decision is right. He seemed to have had significant assistance from the fourth official. Whether he noticed a touch from the offside player that the assistant did not see, I don't know. I would also say that we were pleased in the end to come out with a draw. We were under pressure quite a lot.

For me the first half wasn't just bad it was atrocious, the worst football I had seen all season.
Fair play to Lee Clark for making the substitutions when he did, it changed the game. Both Thomas and Redmond had their best games of the season and Morrison showed his skills and creativity. He is the only one who doesn't seem afraid of putting his foot on the ball and picking a pass.
All three must start against Middlesborough.

interesting article. i think the ire of blues fans tho is that we are not in the same position as swansea were, years out in the football wilderness, starved of investment and opportunity in the club. the devestation of our position is that we have been swept from a position of strength, premier league riches et al inside the space of 18 months. a fall of grace simply down to playing incompetence and boardroom mismanagement. i welcome the Blues Trust. and welcome the desire of individuals to raise hope and desire amongst the collective. but the plain facts are we should never have been placed in such a dire position. the moneys have been there, like all premier clubs we have received substantial media subsidies, and if we were owned by businessmen we'd be in safe hands, like swansea are now. unfortunately wealthy locals took an interest in developing their club, wealthy brummies are less forthcoming. i will love bcfc forever, its my team, my dads team, my grandads team. sadly abused by foreign mercenaries. the hall green mp is right to air his views
