Following the release of season ticket details for the 2013/14 season this afternoon, Blues Trust wishes take this opportunity to clarify its current position.
There has been much concern surrounding season ticket renewals. It is an issue that many Trust members have sought advice over as they consider their options ahead of the Club’s forthcoming Championship campaign.
In addition, questions have been raised surrounding the Trust’s recent investigative efforts in partnership with the Often Partisan website and the Birmingham Mail. Specifically, there have been suggestions that recent revelations will negatively impact on season ticket sales.
Blues Trust has consistently highlighted that one of its main aims and objectives is to promote increased openness and transparency at Board level. At a fans’ forum meeting in February 2013, members voted unanimously in favour of proposals leading to the launch of an investigation into the corporate governance of Birmingham City Football Club and its holding company Birmingham International Holdings Limited.
The Trust has continually paid tribute to the outstanding work of the Club’s administrative staff based in the United Kingdom. As an organisation representative of its members’ views, promoting support for our Football Club on the field has remained paramount.
The renewal of season tickets remains a supporter’s personal choice. Therefore, it is not a position that the Trust believes it should dictate. However, the Trust recommends that individuals who are keen to renew their season ticket should do so via a secure method. These include purchasing season tickets using a credit card or through the Club’s interest free finance scheme.
The Trust can confirm it is currently in the process of arranging a meeting with senior Club officials to discuss season ticket renewals in greater detail. Further updates will be communicated as and when appropriate.
