Blues Trust is proud to announce the sponsorship of two Birmingham City Ladies squad members for the current FA WSL campaign.
The decision to sponsor members of the Ladies team was made following overwhelming feedback from the Trust membership, with 84% of the total number of members who voted as part of an online poll revealing that they were in favour of the initiative.
Chosen by the membership, the Trust is to sponsor Katie Wilkinson and Emily Simpkins having received 33% and 25% of the overall member vote respectively. As part of the arrangements, the current Board have personally funded the cost of one sponsorship on behalf of Blues Trust and its members.
Speaking about the sponsorship arrangements, Blues Trust chairman Steve McCarthy, said: “This a great initiative for us, further showing our commitment to act on behalf of our members in what they believe to be important in respect to the wider promotion of Birmingham City Football Club. We’re keen to promote diversity in football in line with our current strategy, and sponsoring Katie Wilkinson and Emily Simpkins gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our support for the Birmingham City Ladies squad and women’s football in general. We look forward to a long, fruitful partnership with a team that has a great future ahead of them”.
Steve Shipway, Chief Executive Officer of Birmingham City Ladies FC, said: “It is a testimony to this great club that every branch gets involved with each other and we are delighted to have Blues Trust sponsoring two of our players and furthering our cause.
“The support we receive from BCFC is truly outstanding and we are proud to be representing the club and blossoming at the top of the women’s game.
“As we enter the second half of the season we are aware that we have to improve on our first half of the season results, but the management have made a couple of changes and our youngsters are only going to improve with experience.”
