Blues Trust and its members received an invitation to attend the Macmillan Coffee Afternoon event at St Andrews yesterday Thursday 25th Sept and I was very pleased to go along on behalf of the Trust.
It was a fantastic event and very well attended. Lots of delicious cakes and savouries donated by local companies were available and I’m told that over £700 was raised towards the Macmillan Cancer Support’s annual campaign, “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”.
There were plenty of special guests in attendance including first-team players Paul Robinson, Clayton Donaldson, and Charlee Adams, as well as Blues Ladies star Karen Carney. Robbo made his own lemon drizzle cake and very nice it was too.

After a short time, well known members of the press arrived and it became apparent that something else was going to happen. In walked Jasper Carrott and Trevor Francis and the surprise for attendees was that Jasper was to hold a press conference with Trevor to announce that the Blues hero was to be honoured on Broad Street’s Walk of Stars.
You can watch a full 18 minute video of the press conference below.
Jasper Carrott is Chair of the Broad Street Walk of Stars Selection Committee and it recognises those residents of the city who have made a significant contribution in their respective field. Trevor Francis becomes the latest local sports star to be honoured.
You can read more about the announcement on the Blues website here .
The star will be officially presented before the club’s home league fixture against his former club Nottingham Forest on 29 November. The kick-off is at 3pm.
