Following yesterday’s decision to terminate the contracts of both Lee Clark and Steve Watson, the Trust would like to place on record its gratitude for their endeavours whilst at the helm of the club in challenging circumstances. Fans of BCFC will always be grateful for the way in which LC guided BCFC to safety at the Reebok when all seemed lost. Whilst no one can doubt LC’s commitment to BCFC and his desire to succeed at our Club, the time came for a change of direction. We wish LC and SW the best of luck for the future.
The Trust would also like to place on record its appreciation of the decision by Panos Pavlakis to meet with various supporter groups last week. It is very encouraging that Mr Pavlakis assured those present that he was committed to an enhanced level of communication with BCFC fans and to restoring and strengthening the relationship between the fans and the club. The fact that he is endeavouring to engage with supporters groups and to take the lead in the day to day running of the club is a very positive sign and a stark contrast to the days when Peter Pannu was theoretically responsible for the administration of club affairs.
We await news of the appointment of Lee Clark’s successor and look forward to the rest of the season with renewed hope and enthusiasm.
In many ways I am sorry to see Lee leave St Andrew’s. He is obviusly an exceedingly hard working manager and a likeable guy. He will know that football is a fickle trade and unfortunately you are judged on results alone. I wish you well Lee.
