Stand Against Modern Football – Taking Back Our Game campaign.
Blues Trust have received information from STAND, a supporter fanzine, regarding a new campaign supported by the FSF and SD which calls for “plain talking on fan owned football”.
The campaign is designed to promote unity between supporters of all football teams, in order for the supporters to have a role in the running of the game, and so that they can be properly consulted on the issues surrounding the management of the sport nationally.
Some of the areas the campaign is promoting are issues like Safe Standing and electing a fan delegate to the Football Association board.
Following the comments and discussion with Birmingham City supporters on Tuesday night, Blues Trust feels that this is certainly a campaign that is relevant in this current climate.
Tom Reed of STAND Fanzine informed us that this campaign is “aimed at giving fans their fair say in the sport and increasing supporter solidarity. It’s time to put rivalries aside for the good of the game.”
Emma Hodgson will be exploring this campaign and working with representatives from STAND. We are very keen to hear member’s views and would welcome the opportunity for a Blues Trust member to liaise and work with Emma on this initiative. If you feel that this is something you can assist us with and would like to find out more, please email us at info@bluestrust.org
More information will follow in due course, however for further information please visit the STAND website and follow @STANDfanzine on Twitter.
Emma-Louise Hodgson.
