Making progress

by | 30 Mar 2016

Last Thursday was good news day on the Birmingham City website. There was an excellent interview with Kristjaan Speakman, Blues Academy Manager, on what the club is doing to develop young talent. That was followed by Gary Rowett saying he had “heard enough to suggest that ‘steady progression’ is happening regarding the Club’s ownership situation.” It was also announced that Kyle Lafferty, a striker, had joined on an emergency loan, which seems to indicate that they are still trying to get into the playoffs.

Birmingham City doesn’t feel like a club in crisis because the staff have worked hard to keep everything running smoothly. However, fans shouldn’t forget the uncertainty about the ownership situation. Blues Trust supports Daniel Ivery’s investigation of that and has made a donation towards his trip to Hong Kong next month. We are also arranging to have a Question and Answer session with Daniel before he goes, to give our members an opportunity to ask about what he hopes to find out.

It is reassuring to be told that we are making progress but we would like to know where we are going.

(Blues Trust members should have received a letter about the planned Q&A session. If you are a member and haven’t seen the letter, please check your inbox.)
