Hong Kong reception

Daniel Ivery told me yesterday that what had most surprised him during his visit to Hong Kong, was the reception he received when visiting the offices of Birmingham International Holdings and Trillion Trophy Asia. They knew who he was and he was invited into the offices.  At the TTA office there was someone there, ready to talk to him and give him the message that they were aware of the “love the fans have for the club.” Daniel believes that their attitude to him stems from the fact that a group of fans backed his Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the trip. It would have been easy for them to ignore one person but they took notice because he was backed by other Birmingham City fans.

While Daniel was in Hong Kong he was told that it was unlikely that Carson’s conviction would be completely overturned because of the political climate there and the desire of the authorities to crack down on corruption. However, some charges might be dropped and his sentence reduced to the time already served, which would leave him free to trade shares but not to own a football club.

Daniel thinks the EGM may take place in June or July and that the transfer to new owners could take place fairly soon after that.  He’ll be putting a report of his trip on Often Partisan in the next couple of days and the Birmingham Mail has an interview with him.
