Statement – New Season, 2017/18

4 Aug 2017 | 2 comments

The Trust would like to mark the advent of the new season by offering a warm welcome to all of the new playing and coaching staff at Birmingham City Football Club, and wishing everyone connected with the Club the best for the campaign ahead.

Supporters cherish the start of the football calendar as time for optimism; a new beginning, fresh faces in familiar colours on a perfect pitch. Hope is completely reinvigorated, and all Blues fans will be wishing for a season to relish, particularly given the Club’s recent travails.

It is true that this summer’s transfer market has proven a challenge to negotiate, but we would anticipate that the Board will now redouble their efforts in supporting the manager, and recruit the playing talent that his – and our – grand ambitions require. We are confident that, when provided with the tools he has specified, Harry Redknapp will build a team to live long in the memory and one which delivers success to the Club.

One thing that is absolutely certain is that our magnificent support will, as ever, play a significant part in propelling his players toward their objective.

Finally, we would again like to take this opportunity to appeal to the Board to open a constructive dialogue with the Trust and fans. We would like nothing more than to begin this promising season with a renewed spirit of partnership and collaboration.

Keep Right On

Bravo – fans need a proper place in leadership especially when the leadership is abroad and unknown.

Now is the time to back the manager. He will deliver if he is supplied with the tools. We made one big mistake in let’s not make another
