Vote on SD merger with FSF

Two weeks ago, we wrote to our voting members to consult with them on a proposal that Supporters Direct (SD) form a new football supporters’ organisation with the Football Supporters Federation (FSF). We asked them which way they thought we should vote: to form a new organisation with the FSF or to continue as a distinct organisation focused on governance in sport. (Click here to read the details of this proposal.)

Blues Trust board decided to vote against the merger and to remain independent and 52 of the 68 Blues Trust members who responded to our message agreed with us.  So that is the way we voted at the Supporters Direct AGM on Saturday.  More trusts voted for the merger than voted against it so the meeting agreed that SD would form a new football organisation with the FSF.  The FSF AGM also voted in favour of the merger so that is what will happen. An interim board consisting of members of both organisations will plan the details of how this is done.
