After the joy, and relief, of Easter Monday’s victory at St. Andrew’s, Blues are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Foxes of Leicester City. Riding high and with a bit of a swagger, our opponents will feel confident of turning us over yet again. Just as they did before Christmas when they took us apart at St. Andrew’s and again at the end of January when they beat us in the FA Cup.

This time around appears no different with bookmakers, pundits and analysts suggesting almost insulting odds for us to even achieve a draw.
But, enter Gary Rowett, a deserved win against Preston North End, UB40 shouting out their love for our club and players now having upped their game with, hopefully, defensive errors a forgotten nightmare. A chance of upsetting those odds then maybe….?

Confidence surely has to be swirling around our training camp this week. Especially with the knowledge that, in all likelihood, another two wins could cement our Championship status for another season. The six games that remain are no doubt being closely considered by many, with the supposedly “weaker” opposition still to be faced raising hopes of where points might be gained. But, in my view, that would be misplaced due to the nature of this unpredictable league.

Leicester is the game for me where an upset lies and Blues can come good, albeit accepting the class players that the Foxes possess throughout their expensively assembled squad. Vardy may still be a particular danger, and for good reason. But we have our own younger edition in the shape of Stansfield who I believe will take the limelight.

All in all we start the game on Saturday in good spirits and with a point already on the board. The following ninety plus minutes will hopefully see us snaring a few Foxes and adding a couple more.
