Are price rises necessary because of profit and sustainability rules (PSR)? No. Price hikes hit normal supporters very hard but make very little difference to the overall accounting picture.

The FSA has been looking at the inflation of ticket prices a lot recently and it’s clear the cost of going to the match has outstripped pretty much all other types of consumer goods.

West Ham United fan groups continue to push back on planned ticket price hikes and concessionary price changes at the London Stadium ahead of the new season – and a petition calling for change has passed 15,000 signatures.
Chair’s Blog – August 2024 – New Season, New Hope
A new season arrives tomorrow with a full house expected at St. Andrew’s for the visit of Reading and the start of a campaign in League One. Fourteen short weeks have elapsed since the last season ended with, of course, the bitter disappointment of relegation.

As the new season is almost upon us I am really heartened by the off the field activities and the results on the pitch too. It’s very pleasing in particular to see the clean up campaign around the ground…..
