FSA: Arrest Stats – Home Office Moves Goalposts

The football arrests stats were released this week and on the surface appear to show another increase in football-related arrests.

However, anyone who scratches a few milimeters below the surface will see that the Home Office have inflated those numbers by including arrests at any screening of matches being played in Qatar back in December. So if you were in a pub last year watching the World Cup and managed to get yourself arrested then – bingo! – you too could be part of the football-arrest statistics.
