Christmas Cheer
The year hasn’t quite ended where the Blues owners wanted it to when the year began but, thankfully, things are positive and moving in the right direction. The off the field activities have been excellent and results on the pitch to date, being realistic, couldn’t have been much better.
There has been an enthusiasm and optimism engendered among the Blues faithful that has been missing for many years. It’s great to see full houses at St. Andrew’s, great away support, goals scored and good football being played.Separately, I’m very pleased to see John Eustace proving himself at Blackburn. He certainly seems to be making a fist of it in the Championship, with his new team currently riding high.
I hope if things should happen to go awry on the pitch at some time at Blues (especially if we return to the Championship), that Chris Davies is given the opportunity to prove himself, something that in my view was cruelly denied to John Eustace. I think it’s an important part of running any organisation, no matter how well things are going, that management reminds itself of its past mistakes to avoid repeating them.
However, I’m as sure as I can be that Blues fans can look forward to a great 2025 and a return to the Championship with a decent squad. And if the off the field commercial ventures come to fruition, more income to overcome the restrictions placed on the club because of the Fair Play Rules.
Let’s hope tonight’s game see Blues return to the summit of League One 🤞
Happy Christmas everyone!
