Thank You!
Blues Trust would like to thank everyone who recently contributed views, ideas and comments on the Government’s Fan-led Review of Football . The consultation exercise organised by the Trust for Blues fans led to over 100 individual submissions being received, from both Trust members and non-members alike.
The contributions helped to shape the Trust’s submission to Tracey Crouch MP and the Review Panel, which took the form of both a private discussion and a written report. The Trust’s report, which will be published shortly, included all of the comments received from Blues fans.
The comments made were wide and varied, but it is clear that there is a great deal of frustration, dissatisfaction and disillusionment with the current state of professional football in England. Generally speaking, Blues fans welcomed the opportunity presented by the Review because there is growing unease with the way the national game is developing. Supporters indicated that they want to see measures introduced that seek to protect the future of football from greed and which maintain sporting competition and community well-being.
It remains to be seen what changes, if any, emerge as a result of the Review but the Trust will continue to pay close attention to proceedings and will update supporters regularly.
Tracey Crouch is due to produce an interim report in July with a final report being published in October.
