FSA CAMPAIGN:  STOP EXPLOITING LOYALTY

Coventry City announced prices for the upcoming game against Blues this week, with adult admission being £45, seniors and young adults £40 and under 18’s £35.

Blues Trust views these prices as a scandalous attempt to exploit the loyalty of away fans, in this case Blues supporters, and calls upon Coventry City to review its decision at the earliest opportunity.

Unfortunately, as things stand, the setting or regulating of match ticket prices is not within the scope of the soon to be introduced Independent Football Regulator. But while the IFR won’t directly regulate ticket prices, it will require clubs to engage more meaningfully with fans on key issues such as match day prices.

In the meantime, Blues Trust is working with other fan groups across the Championship and the Football Supporters Association to put collective pressure on clubs in the Championship to agree a cap on away prices of £30. Something that has existed in the Premier League for approaching a decade.

In the event that Coventry City do not reduce the prices for the match on 27 September, Blues Trust would encourage any Blues fan who decides to attend to avoid giving the club a single penny more by refusing to spend money on refreshments, programmes etc at the ground itself. Consider buying food and drink away from The Coventry Building Society Arena if you can, and avoid club kiosks and fan zones.

It is time for the EFL clubs to stop exploiting loyalty.

I totally agree we should protest by spending no money within the cba stadium this needs to get some traction and make a huge statement.

The last time we visited Coventry City, some of our ‘fans’ smashed up the toilets, causing several thousand pounds worth of damage. Do you not think that CCFC are trying to make a point and recover this cost?
