New owners. Fresh players. Improvements galore underway at St. Andrew’s. And, at last, an eagerly awaited new 2023/24 Championship campaign. How many times in recent years have we loyal Blues followers been able to spurt out words like those only days before the first game of the season?
Walking along the high street of Henley-in-Arden during these summer months with an ice cream in hand isn’t bad at all.
Welcome mats down and a sensible expectation of new arrivals through the St. Andrew’s door awaits. This is possibly the best way that I can describe my feelings as a seasoned Blues supporter.
With Sheffield United being our final Championship game of the season, all Blues supporters will surely be hoping that next season will be different. Better times ahead is what we want, with stability and a proper pathway for progress. Both in ownership terms and on field success.
Whatever happens at St. Andrew’s during the summer months, the importance of change cannot be understated. Not just for the overall survival, wellbeing or security of our club for yet another season. But also because we supporters need this change.
It might be a bit over the top to say so, but Blues victory in a bruising encounter at Millwall on Tuesday night must make potential investors sit up and take notice.
